As stewards of tomorrow, we call upon our leaders to embrace the extraordinary potential of the atom and lead us towards a more sustainable future. Specifically, we are calling for:

1. An End to Nuclear Energy Phase-Outs: We must put an immediate halt to all policies that are aimed at reducing or eliminating the use of nuclear energy. When nuclear plants are closed, their power is largely replaced by fossil fuels. Policies that destroy these clean power plants are not acceptable in a world trying to reduce its dependence on fossil fuels. We must protect and maintain these valuable assets to ensure that new, clean energy replaces fossil fuels, rather than displacing existing carbon-free power sources.

2. World Bank Support for Nuclear Energy: We urge the World Bank to fund nuclear energy projects, and to support nuclear readiness in developing nations recognizing energy as the cornerstone of development.  The World Bank has already invested billions of dollars in clean energy infrastructure projects, but continues to refuse to finance nuclear energy projects. Nuclear energy has a proven track record of displacing fossil fuels and powering economic growth in developing nations. It is crucial for the World Bank to fund nuclear energy so that it can enable a pathway toward emissions-free, energy-rich futures for both existing and emergent nuclear nations.

In solidarity, we stand as advocates for a nuclear future—a future where clean, abundant, and reliable energy paves the way towards a flourishing planet. It is time for our leaders to heed our call and embrace the transformative potential of nuclear energy in shaping a brighter tomorrow.
